From October 4th to October 6th, 2023, our partner, Universidad de La Laguna (Inicio – Universidad de La Laguna (ull.es)), took an active role in the inaugural edition of Canarias Destino Startup (https://www.canariasdestinostartup.com/), championing the goals of the IDEATION project and contributing to the advancement of innovation in the Canary Islands.

This event stands as the largest national gathering in the Canary Islands dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation, serving as a platform for key players in the ecosystem. These participants include Canarian startups and SMEs, entrepreneurial ventures from the archipelago, interest groups, business angels and venture capital representatives from across the nation.

Throughout the event, the IDEATION project was prominently featured with comprehensive details on the ongoing initiatives within the project. Additionally, Universidad de La Laguna shared their unique interpretation of the project’s mission to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.

IDEATION’s presence at Canarias Destino Startup was twofold: first, to introduce the diverse educational and developmental opportunities provided by the University of La Laguna for aspiring entrepreneurs, both in the business and academic sectors. Second, the project’s participation in Canarias Destino Startup aligns with the goals outlined in WP2 of the IDEATION project, which seeks to establish new collaborations and strengthen existing partnerships among organizations dedicated to pro-innovative approaches.

Events of this nature hold great significance in disseminating information about the IDEATION project on a national scale and in fostering the Open Innovation-based approach, directly expediting the innovation process within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and their surrounding ecosystems.
