Our partner, the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT), has enhanced the Remote Lab for IoT and Robotics, a pivotal innovative infrastructure that plays a crucial role in supporting Actions 1, 2, and 3 of the IDEATION project.
The lab, conceived within IDEATION, serves the primary purpose of enabling partners to facilitate remote work for researchers for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
In Phase 2a of the project, the HIT Remote Lab underwent continuous development with a focus on refining its infrastructure and Remote Operation Human Machine Interface. This progress is attributed to preliminary joint experiences with Universidad de La Laguna (ULL), an IDEATION partner, and other researchers from colleges abroad.
The updated and improved infrastructure aims to achieve several key goals:
- Enable remote research for researchers from HEIs partners.
- Provide students with a platform to practice skills essential for Industry 5.0.
- Form the basis for the remote IoT and Robotics course, to be offered as a prototype for all partners in Phase 2b – 2024.
The collaborative effort of partners in testing the infrastructure, as ULL did in Phase 1, is critical to the success of these objectives.
The development of the Remote Lab, carried out consistently by HIT partner, supports several of the project activities:
- Digitally opening resources, raising awareness, enabling access to existing expertise, experience, and infrastructure at project partners’ locations and in their regions through a new digital service format. (Action 1)
- Strengthen partnerships within the knowledge triangle by creating space for collaborative networking and creating opportunities to establish new cooperations. (Action 2)
- Test and disseminate Open Innovation approaches to directly accelerate the innovation process within HEIs and their ecosystems. (Action 3)
For the future months, HIT extends an invitation to all partners, within the IDEATION project and DEETECHTIVE project *, to support this important activity.
*DETECHTIVE Project funded by the EIT HEI Initiative that alongside IDEATION intends to transform participating Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) into universities of significantly increased entrepreneurial and innovation capacity and enhance their impact on surrounding ecosystem.
